How Much for a Website?

Website design varies depending on size, how many pages, functionality and complexity of the website you have in mind. Variances also come from range of products or services listed on your website, number of images in your portfolio, content development, etc.

To give you an idea, we pride ourselves on being able to build a website with a home page, about us, services or products, images gallery and a contact-us page. We can build this for as little as $500-$1600.

If your site requires a graphic designer and customization, then we will work with you on an estoimate.

How long does it take?

The length of time it takes depends on size and complexity of your website. Once we have a formal discussion with you to discuss your needs, we can estimate a timeline on the development and launch. Most websites are not built from scratch. Templates enable us to work efficiently and customize to your requirements.

Depending on what the website functionality will be, most website projects can be delivered in about one to two months, depending on the collaboration of your business in working with us to design the best website for you.

What happens if I already have a website but would like a replacement?

We can design a new site and incorporate what you like from your existing site. Alternatively, we can look at the option of enhancing your existing website.

Do I need a Logo?

A logo is not mandatory, however, a logo signifies your unique brand. If you have a logo, we can use that. If not, our graphics design team can design one for you.

Do I need pictures for my website?

Pictures add a visual component to a website.  In some cases, our clients have many pictures already. We are often able to use some of them. In many cases we will edit them by resizing, reformatting, colouring or cropping them to be used appropriately on a website.

Depending on location and your budget, etc. we can also send one of our team to come and take some pictures at your business to provide the most effective look for your website. There could be an additional charge for this.

What is a URL or Domain name – and how can I get one if needed?

URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. It is another name for Domain. It really means the address of a World Wide Web page….or a website address. Before you can have a website and use that address, you must own the legal rights to use that “domain”. You can obtain your domain name yourself or we can do so on your behalf.

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is focused upon acquiring website traffic and high search result rankings organically.  Organically means without paying for web traffic via pay-per-click ads, among other methods. Within SEO, there’s a wide variety of strategies to accomplish this.

E.g. When someone wants to find a local business providing the products or services that you do, you would want your website (and therefore business) to appear when they do a search – on Google (as an example.) To help your website get selected, keywords, name components and tags need to be set. CS Web Designs can help set these effectively for your website to maximize market presence.

When someone wants to find a business such as a plumber or electrician, they used to look in the Yellow Pages. While they still can, they are more likely to look on the internet and search somewhere like Google or Bing. Businesses don’t appear in alphabetical order; they are sequenced based on a number of criteria. As a customer, you would like local services to be listed first, but then if you need a specific brand, service or other, you’d like those to appear towards the top. SEO is all about ensuring your website gets selected and presented when a prospective customer searches. Search engines run over massive databases of websites and we want yours to be selected.

What are Keywords?

Keywords (also known as SEO words) are key pieces of information that tell internet readers what is on your website – hopefully what your business wants to say.

By using keywords in your URL, you convey crucial information to your website visitors and search engines. For example, mystore.com/music/jazz tells your viewer exactly what the page is: a list of jazz music for sale.

Keywords are generally used when you are building so that Search Engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo can find your website. Some keywords are your city location and services. You would want your website to be shown when a prospective customer searches for “jazz music” on the internet.

What is a Responsive website?

Years ago, when someone looked at the internet, they would typically use a desktop PC or a laptop. That isn’t true anymore. Over 75% of people who have smartphones or a tablet search the internet on these devices. Many websites – particularly older ones do not adapt to those smaller screen formats. Many would simply be the very same website as they would have on a laptop, only extremely small on a smartphone or tablet. Not only can you not read it without zooming in, it’s very hard to navigate and press the right buttons or icons.

A responsive website is one that will automatically adjust to the mobile/device of the user. The website components might display in a different sequence, rather than laterally on a laptop but they flow and are usable.

In the future, search engines such as Google and Bing will not include non-responsive websites in their search results. All of our website development going forward will be responsive.

Are the video animations that I buy licensed to use in different ways or just on my website?

Any way you want. Once you buy animations, you are free to use them in any way you wish. Examples are on your website, Facebook and other social media, smartphone, your PCs and tablets, on your TV or monitor in reception or waiting rooms, etc. This is a one-time purchase for lifetime use.
